I’ve had a remarkable amount of fun joining in with some simming buddies on a blog train project. Being mostly a builder when I’m not playing or telling stories, I decided I’d find a real 1950′s house plan and adapt it to the Sims for you all.
While I don’t usually upload my actual projects to The Tangled Webby (that’s what Sims 3 Musketeers is for), I decided that it might be easier to do it here what with the bit of different format and banner and stuff like that. Just don’t expect this “sharing a project” thing to become a regular occurence here at TTW.
In real life, this house plan was probably built many times over in various exterior renditions in the historic Levittown in Pennsylvania, USA. I’ve tried not to over-do the CC, but you know, you just cannot build a 1950′s house with all-EA content!
There is a list of store and CC content for you at the end of the post.
Here are the pictures of the original plan and rendition for comparison.
And here is my sims version of this house (test sims not included in file).
Notes:
I’ve left the two bedrooms upstairs empty, just in case you don’t want your sims to have kids or if you only have one child and also need an “office” or something.
Sims are able to walk through the bar between the family room and kitchen area if they like since it’s in an “archway”. The bar is still fully functional, however.
The blind over the window in the kitchen as shown above is not included in the file. I have used the base-game valance instead (still coloured red).
All artwork pictured above in the dining room, family room, and master bedroom is not included since the sites are not active at the moment. Feel free to place your own favourite retro artwork there!
